Provide quality wound care based on Best Practice Guidelines; provide patients with information to help reduce the risks of infection and other complications; develop patients skills to manage wound care at home if appropriate.

Our wound management nurse works collaboratively with:

  • Physicians and Nurse Practitioners
  • Community Care Access Centre (CCAC)
  • Quinte Healthcare Corporation (QHC)
  • Our Dietitians
  • Our Pharmacists
  • Our Diabetes Nurse Educator
  • Consulting Specialists, and
  • Other care and service provides as necessary

Our Wound Management Nurse will:

  • Assess your wound
  • Discuss treatment options
  • Provide wound care
  • Record healing progress
  • Communicate regularly with your health care provider
  • Provide education and skills training as needed
  • Arrange follow-up appointments or referrals as needed
